On Friday, Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 35th Match of the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Royal Challengers Bangalore started their UAE leg of IPL 2021 with a crushing defeat from Kolkata Knight Riders, which shook their confidence in the initial stages. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings established their supremacy, registered a win against defending champions Mumbai Indians on Sunday, and continued the momentum after that.
This win took CSK to the top of the IPL points table with 14 points where Delhi Capitals were standing previously. Royal Challengers Bangalore remain third with 10 points.

However, with these losses, Royal Challengers Bangalore are finding themselves in some sticky waters, and they are undoing their excellent work in the first half of IPL 2021.
Chasing 157 runs, Chennai chased down the target in 18.1 overs, with six wickets remaining. The CSK opening pair of Gaikwad and du Plessis gave the team a much-needed lead and set the CSK’s chase.
The two gave a brilliant performance and went on to cash in every scoring opportunity, leading CSK to 59/0 after 6 overs.
In the ninth over, Virat Kohli broke their opening stand by catching the ball with a stunning dive as Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed Gaikwad. Glenn Maxwell went on for another success in the next over by dismissing du Plessis as Navdeep Saini completed the catch.
After the opening duo being dismissed, Moeen Ali and Ambati Rayudu took it upon themselves and joined forces and put up a tremendous 47-run score to take CSK over 100. Post showcasing some good batting, Ali and Rayudu departed with a gap of 15 runs as Harshal Patel struck at sides of strategic time out.
Then, Raina and MS Dhoni added an unbroken 24-run stand and took the team towards yet another thundering victory.
At the time of toss, a sandstorm delayed the proceedings by 15 minutes, but it didn’t quite have any effect on the match.
Virat Kohli from RCB, on the other hand, set the ball rolling as he pulled up two fours on the first two deliveries while Devdutt Padikkal struck his first four on the last ball of the first over. The duo went on, hitting a four each in the third over, followed by a six each over the next two overs. RCB managed to get 55/0 at the end of the powerplay, and this was, what we can say a good start.
Even though the start for RCB was great, Chennai Super Kings continued to tighten their grip over RCB with Bravo, who picked three wickets and managed to restrict RCB to 156/6.
