Affiliate disclosure

MyCasinoGuru is free to use. We pay for our research and running costs through affiliate commissions. This page explains how that works, so you can judge our content with the full picture.

How commissions work

In some markets, some of our pages include links to casino operators. These are affiliate links. If you follow one and open an account, the operator may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra and does not change the terms the casino offers you.

We are not a casino. We do not take bets, run games or hold any player money.

Commission models

The arrangements we may have with operators are usually one of these, or a mix of both:

  • CPA (cost per acquisition): a one-off fee when a new player signs up and meets the operator’s qualifying conditions, such as making a first deposit.
  • Revenue share: a percentage of the net revenue the operator makes from players referred by us, over an agreed period.

What commissions influence, and what they do not

A commercial relationship can decide whether a link exists. It does not decide what we write.

  • Commissions never change a score.
  • Commissions never change a ranking position.
  • Operators cannot pay to be reviewed or to have a review changed.
  • A casino with no commercial relationship can still be reviewed and ranked, simply without a link.
  • A casino that pays us can still score poorly.

Scores come from the eight criteria and published weights described on our How we review casinos page. Our wider standards are in our editorial policy.

Affiliate links are marked as sponsored in the page code (using the rel=sponsored attribute), which tells search engines they are commercial. Pages that may contain affiliate links point to this disclosure.

Market by market

Advertising rules differ in every market, so our links do too.

  • Affiliate links and offers only appear in markets where that is legal, and only after a written approval for that market has been recorded.
  • In Ontario, we do not show bonuses, free spins or other inducements.
  • Casinos only appear in rankings after their licence for that market has been matched on the regulator’s public register. See our licensing page.
  • Casinos we are still researching may be listed as “Unverified”, with no links, no score and no offers.

We do not run affiliate activity in India, Brazil, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand or Italy.

A reminder

Gambling should only ever be entertainment you can afford. If it stops feeling that way, our responsible gambling page lists practical tools and where to get help. Questions about this disclosure can be sent through our contact page.
