Every casino on this page holds a current authorization from Division of Gaming Enforcement for New Jersey. We check each one on the regulator's own register at least every 30 days, and a casino drops off this page if that check falls out of date.
Quick answer
Yes. Online casino gaming is legal in New Jersey for adults 21 and over who are physically in the state. The Division of Gaming Enforcement issues internet gaming permits to Atlantic City casinos and their online partners. To check a site, find its permit holder on the DGE's published list. If it is not there, it is not approved. 10 casinos are verified on the Division of Gaming Enforcement register for New Jersey right now. Latest check: Oct 18, 2026.

How we make money: some casinos pay us a commission when players join through our links, and only in markets where that is approved. It never decides a position or a score.
Only casinos licensed for this market can appear. Each one is scored on its licence and ownership, withdrawal terms, local payment methods, customer support and player protection tools. Commissions never change a position or a score.
What we score
Online casinos have been legal in New Jersey since 2013 and are regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE). Each online casino operates in partnership with a licensed Atlantic City casino. The practical point to know first: you must be physically located in New Jersey to play, and sites run geolocation checks to confirm it, wherever you happen to live.
Every legal New Jersey online casino is regulated by the DGE and runs in partnership with a licensed Atlantic City casino. Before registering, check that the site names the DGE as its regulator and identifies its Atlantic City partner. If neither is there, that is a good reason to walk away.
You must be 21 or older, accounts are in US dollars (USD), and geolocation checks confirm you are inside the state before you can play. The rule depends on where you are when you play, not on where you live.
Common options at New Jersey sites include:
The last one is a direct result of the partnership model. Not every site offers every method, so look at the withdrawal options as well as deposits.
We confirm that each casino on this page is regulated by the DGE before listing it, and we re-check it periodically. A site that loses that status comes off the page, and one without DGE regulation never makes it on, whatever it offers. Scores follow our published methodology and are set independently of any commission. The full process is on how we review.

Yes, when the site is approved by the Division of Gaming Enforcement. State law lets Atlantic City casino licensees, or their internet gaming affiliates, hold permits to offer casino games online. The DGE publishes the list of permit holders and says any site not on it is not approved to offer internet gaming in New Jersey. See the DGE internet gaming page.
The rule that matters is location. DGE regulations prohibit internet wagering unless you are physically present in New Jersey, and every licensed site has to check where you are at login before it accepts a bet. If the geolocation check places you outside the state, the site must refuse wagers until you are back inside it. The rules are in N.J.A.C. 13:69O-1.2.
You must be 21. DGE rules require every licensed site to state that it is a criminal offense to let anyone under 21 take part in internet or mobile wagering, and players consent to age and identity checks when they open an account. Expect to give accurate personal details at sign-up.
Yes. The IRS says gambling winnings are fully taxable and must be reported, and the NJ Division of Taxation says gambling winnings, including casino winnings, are subject to the New Jersey Gross Income Tax. Losses from the same year can offset winnings on the state return, but not below zero. This is general information, not tax advice.
Use the DGE Self-Exclusion Program. You can sign up online for one or five years, or book an in-person or video appointment, which also allows a lifetime term. Your details go to every licensed internet gaming permit holder. If you gamble while excluded, you can lose winnings and account funds. The DGE self-exclusion line is 1-833-788-4DGE. Details are on the DGE self-exclusion page.
Complain to the casino first and get its written response. If that does not settle it, the DGE treats it as a dispute: you send the DGE dispute form with your original complaint and the casino's response attached. Internet gaming questions go to igaming@njdge.gov, and the DGE lists (609) 984-0909 for complaint help. The process is on the DGE internet gaming page.
No. P.L.2025, c.128, approved on 15 August 2025 and effective immediately, bans sweepstakes games that award prizes through a dual currency system. The law sets civil penalties of up to $100,000 for a first offense and up to $250,000 for later ones, and makes running an online gambling operation that takes bets from New Jersey residents a third-degree crime. Read the law text.
Set a budget before you play and stop when it is spent. Use the deposit limits and time-outs your casino offers.
