Casinos without a score are listed alphabetically, not ranked. They are licensed and verified, but we only give a score and a position once every scored criterion has evidence.

How we make money: some casinos pay us a commission when players join through our links, and only in markets where that is approved. It never decides a position or a score.

How this ranking works

Only casinos licensed for this market can appear. Each one is scored on its licence and ownership, withdrawal terms, local payment methods, customer support and player protection tools. Commissions never change a position or a score.

Online casinos in Ontario: what to know before you play

Online casinos are legal in Ontario, which has run a regulated market since April 2022. iGaming Ontario (iGO) manages the market, while the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) registers operators and sets the standards they must meet. One practical point: Ontario's advertising rules restrict publicising bonuses and inducements, so this page compares regulated sites on the facts rather than on promotional offers.

How licensing works in Ontario

Ontario splits the job in two. The AGCO registers each operator and sets the standards it has to follow, and iGaming Ontario runs the market itself. A properly regulated site appears on iGaming Ontario's public list of regulated operators and shows its iGO and AGCO details on its own pages. If those details are missing, or the company name does not match the list, treat that as a reason to stop.

You must be 19 or older to play in Ontario, and accounts are held in Canadian dollars (CAD).

Paying in and cashing out

Most Ontario players use one of a short list of methods:

  • Interac e-Transfer
  • Interac Online
  • Visa and Mastercard debit
  • Some e-wallets

Not every site offers every method, so look at the cashier before you register rather than after, and pay particular attention to the withdrawal options.

How we choose and check these casinos

Every casino on this page is checked against iGaming Ontario's list of regulated operators before it is listed, and we re-check it periodically. A site that drops off the list comes off this page. Scores follow our published methodology and are set independently of any commission we might earn. The full process is explained on how we review.

Frequently asked questions

Is online casino gambling legal in Ontario?

Yes, on regulated sites. The Criminal Code lets a province conduct and manage gaming under its own laws, and Ontario does this through iGaming Ontario, which contracts private operators that the AGCO has registered. OLG.ca is also legal. Sites outside that system are not part of the regulated market, and the AGCO cannot help you with disputes involving them. The full list of authorized sites is in iGaming Ontario's directory.

How old do you have to be to play at an online casino in Ontario?

You must be 19 or older. You also need to be physically in Ontario when you place a wager. You can open or log in to an account while travelling, but you cannot bet from outside the province. Your personal details are checked before the account is created, so expect to confirm your identity at sign-up. See iGaming Ontario's player FAQs.

Do I pay tax on online casino winnings in Ontario?

General information, not tax advice. The CRA says you do not report lottery winnings of any amount unless the prize can be considered income from employment, a business or property, or a prize for achievement. Any interest or other income you earn on winnings is taxable. If gambling is closer to a business for you, get advice from a tax professional. Source: Canada Revenue Agency.

Why don't Ontario casino ads or comparison sites show bonus offers?

The AGCO prohibits public advertising of inducements, bonuses and credits, including promo codes and indirect references. Operators can show offers on their own site or app after you choose to visit, or send them to people who consented on the gaming site itself. Consent given on third-party websites does not count. That is why our Ontario pages list no bonuses. Details are in the AGCO's advertising guidance.

How do I self-exclude from all Ontario online casinos at once?

Use BetGuard, Ontario's centralized self-exclusion program, launched by iGaming Ontario on 14 May 2026. One registration at betguard.ca covers every regulated igaming site, including OLG's. You can pick 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or a custom term. While it is active you cannot use existing accounts, open new ones or receive marketing. iGaming Ontario warns that impostors use the BetGuard name, so go to betguard.ca directly.

What can I do if an Ontario online casino will not pay my withdrawal?

Complain to the operator first and get a complaint reference number. If you get no response after a reasonable time, or the dispute is unresolved, file a complaint with the AGCO through iAGCO with the site name, your player ID and that number. The AGCO can issue warnings, suspensions or penalties, but it cannot get your money back. See the AGCO complaints page.

Can I play on Ontario casino sites when I am outside Ontario?

You can open or access an account with a regulated operator while you are away, but you cannot place wagers until you are physically back in Ontario. The rule follows from the Criminal Code, which only allows the province to run gaming within Ontario. If a site lets you bet from another province or country under its Ontario account, that is a warning sign. Source: iGaming Ontario FAQs.
