Quick answer

Is BetMGM licensed in Ontario? Yes. It is on the AGCO and iGaming Ontario register, checked on Oct 18, 2026. Two AGCO marketing penalties sit on BetMGM Canada's record: $48,000 in May 2022 and $110,000 in March 2025, the second for affiliates offering cash to sign up new players.

How
Desk research: the register and the operator's own published terms. No real-money account.

Strengths

  • Casino, poker and sportsbook all listed on the iGaming Ontario directory
  • Ontario terms name the operator and its Toronto mailing address
  • Live dealer tables, jackpot slots and a high limit section in the lobby
  • Interac e-Transfer, PayPal and Apple Pay among the listed methods

Weaknesses

  • A withdrawal can be declined within 14 days of a card deposit
  • Prepaid and gift cards capped at $250 in deposits per seven days
  • Same site serves Alberta, so confirm you are on the Ontario version
  • Terms quote no AGCO registration number; check the AGCO's records

How we scored it

8.1/10
  • Licence and authorization 9.5
    Evidence

iGaming Ontario lists BetMGM Canada Inc. with casino.on.betmgm.ca, and the Ontario terms name the same company as the contracting party, operating under its AGCO registration as agent for iGO. Two details held the score back slightly: section 6.1 of the terms says 'We are a United States company', and casino.on.betmgm.ca now redirects to a combined Alberta and Ontario site (betmgm.ca) whose footer shows iGO and AIGC badges but no company name.

  • Ownership transparency 9.0
    Evidence

The Ontario terms name BetMGM Canada Inc., P.O. Box 1010, First Canadian Place RPO, Toronto, ON M5K 1P2. They describe BetMGM as a partially owned joint venture subsidiary of MGM Resorts International, with Entain plc in its affiliate group. That is a clear ownership chain; the only gap is that the published address is a P.O. box rather than a street office.

  • Withdrawal terms 6.5
    Evidence

BetMGM's help centre gives Interac and PayPal payouts within 24 hours of review and online banking in 2 to 4 business days, with no Interac fee. The review time is inconsistent: up to 3 to 5 days in the help centre, five business days in the terms, two on the Interac page. Limits are missing from the withdrawal page, and withdrawals within 14 days of a card deposit can be refused. Reversals are allowed until approval.

  • Local payment methods 9.5
    Evidence

Interac e-Transfer works for both deposits and withdrawals in CAD, and BetMGM charges no fees for it. The help centre also lists Visa and Mastercard (including debit), PayPal, Apple Pay, online banking, bank wire and others, and the terms require every payment to be in Canadian dollars. That range, with Interac both ways, is why this score is high.

    Sources: help.on.betmgm.ca
  • Customer support 9.0
    Evidence

The Ontario help centre advertises 'BetMGM 24/7 Customer Service', and the terms list email (support@on.betMGM.ca), phone (+1-343-488-5355) and a chat feature. Three channels around the clock earn a high score. We could not find whether help is offered in French; if that matters to you, ask support before you deposit.

  • Player protection tools 8.5
    Evidence

The terms set out deposit, loss and stake limits (daily, weekly, monthly), time outs of 1 day to 3 months, self exclusion of 6 months to 5 years, BetGuard and account statements under My Transactions. The help centre adds session time limits and the footer links ConnexOntario. We found no reality check reminder or PlaySmart link, which kept the score out of the top band.

  • Site and app experience 7.0
    Evidence

BetMGM has a dedicated casino app on the Apple App Store (Canada) and Google Play, both published by BetMGM, LLC and describing Ontario play for ages 19 and over. The Ontario terms are linked from the footer. We did not confirm whether each game shows its payout rate (RTP), so open a game's help or info screen before you play.

  • Complaints record 6.0
    Evidence

The AGCO fined BetMGM Canada $48,000 on May 3, 2022 for inducement and misleading advertising tweets, then issued a $110,000 Order of Monetary Penalty on March 26, 2025 because affiliates and representatives offered cash or inducements to sign up in 2024. Two penalties for the same kind of breach weigh on this score. We checked AGCO news releases only; player complaint sites were not part of this review.

Overview

BetMGM is the online brand of the MGM Resorts partnership. In Ontario it runs three regulated products, a casino, a poker site and a sportsbook, and this review covers the casino. The iGaming Ontario directory lists the address as casino.on.betmgm.ca, which redirected to www.betmgm.ca/en/casino when we checked. That site’s footer now covers both Ontario (19+) and Alberta (18+), so make sure you are on the Ontario version and reading its Ontario terms.

We built this profile from public sources: the regulator’s directory and BetMGM’s own Ontario terms and help pages. It is desk research, not a hands-on test.

Licence and ownership

BetMGM Casino, BetMGM Poker and BetMGM Sportsbook are all listed on the iGaming Ontario regulated market directory, which is the list of sites offered by operators registered with the AGCO and authorized by iGaming Ontario. “BetMGM Canada Inc.” is on the directory’s list of operators, although the directory does not show which company runs which site.

BetMGM’s Ontario general terms fill that gap. They name the operator as BetMGM Canada Inc., with a Toronto mailing address, and refer to its registration with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. No registration number is quoted, so if you want it, look the company up in the AGCO’s own records.

Why two bodies? In Ontario the AGCO registers and regulates private operators, while iGaming Ontario, a provincial agency, contracts with them and conducts and manages the games. BetMGM offers its casino as an agent of iGaming Ontario, which is why both names appear in its footer and terms.

The directory is the check that counts. Search for BetMGM there and compare the listed web address with the one in your browser. A site that is not on the directory is not part of Ontario’s regulated market, whatever its footer says.

Games

The casino lobby is organized into a long list of categories. When we checked, these included:

  • Slots, jackpot slots and new releases
  • Table games and a high limit section
  • Live casino, including a “Live From Las Vegas” category
  • Arcade-style games, Originals and Exclusives
  • Tournaments

Ranges change often and some titles are exclusive to particular provinces, so treat the lobby as the source of truth rather than any fixed count.

Payments and withdrawals

The Ontario help site’s navigation lists Visa, Mastercard, Interac e-Transfer, online banking, bank wire transfer, PayPal, Apple Pay, TAPPP and the GAMEON card. The general terms describe the categories more broadly (cards, bank transfers and online payment systems) and say foreign cards, currencies and payment methods are not accepted. Prepaid and gift cards are capped at five cards and $250 in deposits per seven days.

The withdrawal terms say:

  • Withdrawals are paid using the same method used to deposit where possible. If that is not available, you may be asked for a second account and proof that it is yours.
  • Payments are made “as soon as reasonably possible”, subject to up to five business days of internal processing, plus any time needed for security reviews.
  • BetMGM may decline a withdrawal requested within 14 days of a credit or debit card deposit.
  • Transaction limits and processing fees may apply, and your own bank may add charges.
  • Identity checks can involve a third-party provider (the terms name Jumio).

The 14-day clause is the one to plan around. If you fund your account by card and want to cash out soon after, BetMGM can turn the request down until two weeks have passed. The clause names credit and debit cards only.

Player protection and support

The site is for players aged 19 or over who are physically in Ontario. Its footer links to BetMGM’s GameSense responsible gaming page and to ConnexOntario, the provincial help service. Ontario-regulated operators must offer tools such as deposit limits and self-exclusion, and the GameSense page shows what is available on your account. If you have a complaint the operator cannot resolve, the Ontario terms explain the escalation route.

Our view

BetMGM fits Ontario players who want a large, mainstream lobby with live dealer tables and jackpot slots from a well-known brand, and who may also use the poker or sports products under the same account.

Because the brand now operates outside Ontario as well, compare the site address with the iGaming Ontario directory before you register. Read the withdrawal section of the Ontario terms, especially the same-method rule, and have your ID ready so verification does not hold up your first payout.
