Overview
BetMGM is the online casino and sportsbook brand of BetMGM, LLC. In New Jersey it offers online casino games under the internet gaming permit held by the Borgata in Atlantic City. The DGE’s August 2026 revenue release lists BetMGM against the Borgata, and it was the third largest internet gaming brand in the state by year-to-date win in that release.
We based this profile on desk research of DGE documents and BetMGM’s own pages.
License and ownership
The DGE’s list of internet gaming permit holders shows permit NJIGP 26-001 held by Marina District Development Company, LLC d/b/a Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, and the DGE’s monthly revenue release links the BetMGM brand to that casino. A Borgata quarterly report filed with the DGE fills in the rest: BetMGM, LLC is a venture owned 50% by MGM Resorts that operates the internet gaming skins tied to the Borgata license, including BetMGM and Borgata’s own site.
You can check the current DGE permit holder list yourself. BetMGM’s own NJ casino guide states that it is licensed and regulated by the DGE and describes BetMGM as a joint venture of Entain and MGM Resorts.
Games
According to BetMGM’s New Jersey online casino guide, the library covers:
- Slots, including progressive jackpot games
- Blackjack, with more than ten variants including live dealer tables
- American and European roulette, also with live dealer versions
- Baccarat, including live and speed formats
- Slingo, arcade-style and themed games
Poker is a separate BetMGM product. Game availability changes, so the lobby is the place to confirm a specific title.
Payments and withdrawals
BetMGM’s guide to payment methods lists ACH bank transfer, credit and debit cards, prepaid cards (including BetMGM-branded cards sold at some retailers), PayPal, Apple Pay on iOS, wire transfer and cash at an MGM Resorts casino cage. The guide covers all of BetMGM’s casino states and says availability varies by state, so not every method is guaranteed in New Jersey.
BetMGM’s account FAQ says withdrawals generally go back to the method used to deposit where that method is supported, and that one cash balance can be used across the states where BetMGM operates. BetMGM does not publish withdrawal times where we could find them, though the guide notes that ACH and wire transfers can take from hours to days to clear. Ask support or check the cashier for current timings before your first withdrawal.
Player protection and support
Under New Jersey’s internet gaming rules (N.J.A.C. 13:69O), the legal age is 21 and operators must check a player’s physical location at login. Only people physically in New Jersey can place wagers, so play through a VPN or from an out-of-state device will be refused.
BetMGM’s account FAQ notes that deposit and session limits are available in New Jersey, and its casino guide mentions self-exclusion and custom deposit limits.
For help with gambling, the New Jersey Attorney General’s responsible gaming page points players to the 1-800-GAMBLER helpline. If BetMGM does not resolve a complaint, the DGE accepts disputes once you have a written response from the casino permit holder, which here is the Borgata. The DGE’s internet gaming contact is igaming@njdge.gov or (609) 984-0909. See the DGE internet gaming information page and the Responsible Gaming in New Jersey page.
Our view
BetMGM suits New Jersey players who want a large casino library from a brand with a clear link to an Atlantic City license. The DGE paperwork is straightforward: the Borgata holds the permit and BetMGM, LLC runs the platform.
Before signing up, confirm the permit on the DGE list, open the cashier to see which payment methods are live for your account, and read the withdrawal section of the terms. If you play in more than one state, check how the shared balance works for you.
