Apple Pay uses the cards stored in your Apple Wallet. At the casino cashier you tap the Apple Pay button and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. According to Apple, neither Apple nor your device sends your actual card number to the merchant, which means one less place your card details are stored.
The card behind Apple Pay still matters. Apple Pay can hold credit cards as well as debit cards, but the UK ban on gambling with credit cards applies however the card is presented. Use a debit card as your default for gambling payments, or the deposit may be declined.
Not every casino pays withdrawals back through Apple Pay, and some will ask you to choose another method such as a bank transfer. The cashier page or payment terms will tell you which applies before you deposit.
If you want a spending safeguard, set a deposit limit in your casino account. Since 31 October 2025, licensed operators must prompt you to set one before your first deposit.
